Has anyone tried using Corsair XMS 3200 dual channel RAM? I have one
of the twinpacks.. I was having all kinds of problems having the bios
autodetect the two 256meg modules.. Kept getting a blue screen stop
message upon a new Windows XP Pro install.. I only recently found out
that it could be a RAM issue.. AFter manually setting the RAM specs,
I finally got Windows installed running the RAM at 266.. I was able
to bump that up to 320 (the middle setting in the bios).. Whenever I
try to run the memory at 400 it crashes the computer... Just curious
if anyone else knows of a compatibility issue with this Corsair RAM..
or maybe some advice on other dual-channel PC3200 that definately
works in this board.. Thx in advance.. Bob

There is a problem with i865 chipset and DDR400 modules when you set
Ras to Cas Delay, as Corsair has said:

The problem is the chipset won't handle a tRCD (RAS to CAS Delay) of
2. We've done a revision of the SPD to make the LL's work on the 875
and 865 chipsets, the settings are now 2-3-2-6 by default.
We will, of course, warranty any modules with the older SPD but it
should be noted that the end user can simply manually adjust the BIOS
to the settings noted above.

I hope this helps you :D

I have the exact same setup as the first guy above. And I was also
able to avoid setup lockups and blue screens by adjusting the mhz of
the ram down to 320. How would I go about changing the Ras to Cas
Delay?

Your BIOS reads SPD RAM timings from your Corsair Modules and sets
automaticaly your CAS, Ras to Cas, etc... But you can change your
timings in your BIOS and force Ras to Cas to 3 to avoid problems with
i865 boards.

2-3-2-6 stands for CAS Latency, RAS to CAS Delay, RAS Precharge, and
Precharge Delay (in that order) so:

CAS Latency = 2
RAS to CAS Delay = 3
RAS Precharge = 2
Precharge Delay = 6

You can read this http://www.anandtech.com/memory/showdoc.html?i=1828&p=1
